CSILS mission:

 - Training, development and maintenance of communication skills in international languages, according to the requirements and standards of the international structures to which Romania is part of, in order to fulfil the obligations assumed by the Ministry of National Defence, regarding the participation to missions, temporary and permanent positions and other types of joint actions.

- Training, development and maintenance of communication skills in international languages  in order to  participate in various forms of training,  abroad or for the development of international cooperation relations in the field of defence.

Within the Secondary Center for Foreign Languages Pitesti there are included:

-          3 classrooms x 12 seats ( two of them are equipped with an IT system connected to the internet and OHP / one classroom is equipped with air conditioner);

-          2 audio laboratories x 20 seats;

-          2 multimedia laboratories  ( 1x20 and 1x13 seats) connected to the internet; the laboratory is also equipped with audio-video systems designed for the educational process, printers and one scanner to copy worksheets or other material necessary for the educational process;

-          1 library (Land Forces Warrant Officers and NCOs  Military School) equipped with a remarkable amount of textbooks and material for teachers and students. The book stock includes  not only teaching material made available by foreign partner but also teaching material purchased ( dictionaries and courses with audio/ video/ CD items attached);

-          3 administrative rooms : one office for the chief of  Secondary Center for Foreign Languages, one teachers’ room ( in these rooms there is an IT system connected to INTRAMAN network necessary to accomplish tasks specific to the Secondary Center for Foreign Languages) and servers’ rooms;

-          2 toilets;

Within the Center, there are organized the following activities|:

-          Intensive courses and online courses both for English and French languages;

-          Initial evaluation;

-          Placement tests for the staff participating to the evaluation of the English Language Linguistic Competence;

-          Evaluation of Linguistic Competence according to STANAG 6001;

-          Translation- interpretation activities;

-          Evaluation of linguistic competence level of the candidates to different international missions.

Teaching staff in the Secondary Center for Foreign Languages Pitesti

In the classrooms of the Secondary Center for Foreign Languages, 3 intensive course groups can be safely organized with a maximum number of 6 students per group (students will be placed in desks so as to exist at least one free seat forward and backward in order to keep a 2-meter distance between students)
