HISTORY

 

         The Land Forces Military School for WOs and NCOs ”BASARAB I” bears the values and the cultural-educational heritage of all the WOs and NCOs training schools which preceded it, preparing over 12500 WOs and NCOs in the last 19 years and It specialized the training of other 3700. This training was permanently appreciated by the leaders of the Romanian Army as well as their partners and allies within the operational theatres.

 

HIGHLIGHTS CALENDAR

 

July 25th, 1960 - By the order of the General Staff, in Pitesti, Tanks and Auto Military School for NCOs was founded by joining the Military School for Tank NCOs Targoviste with the Tank Techniques and Auto Military School for NCOs from Mozil and the Auto Techniques Military School from Craiova;

 

January 12th, 1964 - School changes its name and NCO Military School Military for Tank and Auto WOs and NCOs;

 

October 21st, 1974 - According to Ministerial Decision no 28 the Military School for WOs and NCOs is named Military School for WOs and NCOs "Basarab I";

 

March 22nd, 1991 - By Governmental Decision no 906/1990, Military School for WOs and NCOs "Basarab I" changes in military higher education institution under the name of Auto Military Institute "Basarab I", preparing officers with higher auto studies and providing training for WOs and NCOs in the same branch;

 

August 1st, 1996 - Following the concept of military education reform, approved by the Supreme Council of National Defence, by Governamental Order no 42/1995 from March 5th, 1996, the Auto Military Institute "Basarab I" becomes Land Troops Military School for WOs and NCOs;

 

August 4th, 2000 - By Land Forces Staff decision, the institution is called Land Forces Military School for WOs and NCOs;

 

April 30th, 1999 - By the order of the National Defence Minister no 44, it's founded the NCOs Training Center (UM 01080), as an annex to the Land Forces Military School for WOs and NCOs;

 

2001-2002 - NCOs Training Centre is restructurated and becomes part of the educational structure of the shool;

 

August 23rd, 2004 -  By order J. 5784 from August 19th, 2004, starting with August 23rd, 2004, the schools received the honorary name of "Basarab I";

 

August 23rd, 2009 - Acoording to Presidential Decree no 1353 from December 22nd, 2008, on April 23rd 2009 Land Forces Military School for WOs and NCOs "Basarab I" receives the Fighting Flag;

 

2012 - Institution receives CERTIFICATE ON THE QUALITYOF EDUCATION and issued the accreditation of all post-secondary education programs by the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports.

 

April 23rd 2014- By the order of Land Forces Staff no. F.T. O.P. 112/20.03.2014 it is granted the Land Forces Badge of Honor to the Land Forces Military School for WOs and NCOs "Basarab I"

 

April 23rd 2014 – The Institution receives the Authorization for the Driving School, delivered by the Ministry of Transport/The Romanian Road Transport Authority - A.R.R.
